Wildstar's eyes widened when Minnowpaw and Dappledpaw both said they smelled blood. Fur starting to stand on end, she meowed hurriedly, "Let's go!" She streaked after the scent, finding it growing stronger with each step she took. She hoped her speed wouldn't be too much for the apprentices, with how long her legs were and all.
Then she saw them. A triumphant-looking brown-and-black-striped tabby she-cat, and... Cloudstar, leader of StormClan?! What in the name of StarClan?! He looked dead! But to her relief, Wildstar saw his chest begin to rise and fall again. Did he lose a life? "You!" She snarled at the she-cat. "Who are you, and why did you attack StormClan's leader?! I am Wildstar, leader of SplashClan!"

Dappledpaw let out a screech of terror and fury as she arrived at Wildstar's side. her gren eyes wide with shock, anger, and terror. Midnight raised her head from Cloudstar's chest and met her icy eyes to his, "What do you think I am doing?" She asked, not sarcasticly, not out of breath or angerily, but almost confused and almost lovingly. Her tail was now curled around her paws instead of on the ground near Cloudstar's chin. Dappledpaw's fur on her neck had bushed out instead of just beining to rise. Her lips twitched as she started to growl but it seemed she couldn't speak. "Wildstar?" She asked after Dappledpaw's gaze flicked to Cloudstar, then back to her.

Wildstar's semi-long fur fluffed up, and she growled viciously at Midnight. "Need I repeat myself?!" She demanded crossly. Not a soul knew this, not even Darkfur, but Wildstar held a soft spot for the StormClan leader. There was just something entrancing about the white amber-eyed tom that sparked something inside of her, but she didn't know what. She knew it wasn't a good thing, that was for sure. And yet, she found herself not having the will to do anything about it. She stepped in front of the apprentices, trying her best to shield them from any harm.

Midnight mewed softly, "No my dear. I am just washing the blood of this cats fur. No need to freat, a leader has nine lives, but what would a nine-lived leader do if his clan sees him washed in blood?" She laughed quietly when Wildstar blockd her way to the apprentices, "Do you think I would hurt cats as young as them right now?" Dappledpaw hissed, lashing her tail, ducking her head below Wildstar's neck to get nearly full view of Midnight. Her green eyes glared into Midnight's and she hissed, "Yeah like I'd beleive you!" Unsheathing claws agaisnt the sandy earth to try to keep balance.

"I agree." Wildstar hissed. "We have every right to believe that you did this." Wildstar's eyes locked on Midnight's paws. "After all, you do have his fur in your claws." Her dark brown eyes narrowed to slits. She had to get this crazy she-cat away from Cloudstar. Her tail swished from side-to-side, and her sharp teeth were bared. She grew angrier as Midnight spoke of the apprentices. "Leave them out of this!" She snapped.

Midnight just glared back with slitted eyes and a smile. "Ok, fine. I could let them out of this if you do not order them to attack fish-breath." She growled happily. Her claws had unsheathed by force when Wildstar had stepped on her paw. She slid her paw from underneath Wildstar's paw calmly and quickly, then put her paw on his, claws scrapping at the sand a whikser-width from Wildstar's paw. Her other paws, was pressed against Cloudstar's chest still, but carefully so no blood was shed. Dappledpaw flattened her ears and mewed, vioce smaller, "Don't fight!" Midnight turned her head calmly around. "Why leaf-pelt? You do scared to get a couple of marks on your skinny little self?" She replied calmly, evily.

Wildstar's ears flattened against her head as Midnight placed her paw on hers. There was something eerily evil about the icy-eyed she-cat... she couldn't place it. "Leave. Now." She spat. "Or I will set them on you." She couldn't stand to see Cloudstar in this condition any longer. Her claws unsheathed themselves instictively, because she was so tense. But they weren't exposed enough to scratch Midnight. But they would be if she didn't leave... now.

Midnight sneered, "Yeah, ok. Fine by me, I will leave you to your litle love." She stood up, putting a little more pressure on Wildstar from her weight. She stood up to full height, her eyes just a little high than Wildstar since she was bigger. Smiling she turned away and walked slowly away until she was at the edge of the brush where she had come through to meet Cloudstar. "I will see you again, just as Leaf-fall meats Leaf-bare, I will come back to see to your Clan's destruction." Her tail as last to dissapear, but her scent and presence stil lingered.

Bristling at the "love" part, Wildstar watched the she-cat leave, body tense just in case she would return. "I'd love to see you try." She mocked as Midnight said she would come back to destroy them. As the rogue disappeared, Wildstar brought her attention to Cloudstar. Ignoring the alarms going off in her head, she licked the white tom's face, trying to awaken him. "Cloudstar? Wake up! We have to get you to a medicine cat!" She meowed worriedly. She briefly wondered if she sounded too worried, but found she didn't care. Cloudstar was leader of a Clan that was currently on friendly terms with SplashClan (and Wildstar hoped they would remain that way) and StarClan be forgotten if she was just going to let him die!

Dappledpaw wandered stiff-leggedly over to CLoudstar, and gasped in shock at the red lines that went down Cloudstar's face, going inbetween his eyes from his right ear to the bottom left side of his face. She whispered to Wildstar, "Can I be medicine cat apprentice? I would be able to help the injered, like Cloudstar." She added silently, "I am sorry to. I hate blood being spilled." She glanced at Wildstar, then to Cloudstar and sniffled, diggin her face into his neck fur. She whispered silently, "Come back Wildstar, Come back please." She set her paws beside his neck and set her tail on his neck. She added silently in her head, "No one wants you to die." She sobbed quietly in her mind.

Wildstar looked at Dappledpaw in shock. "Um..." She stuttered, unable to find any words to say. Then, regaining herself, she answered, "Yes. Of course." She was impressed by Dappledpaw's sudden concern for the injured leader. Only a true medicine cat cared for the injured like that. It was clear to her now; this was Dappledpaw's path as laid out by StarClan. It made perfect sense. Once again turning her attention to the white leader, she nudged him yet again. What should I do? I can't move you in this condition unless you're awake. Please, please wake up... She pleaded internally.

Ripplepaw bowed his head to the dead leader, unaware of the 6 lives the tom still had. Minnowpaw padded away, behind a bush, where she laid her head on her paws. The scent of blood was overwelming, and it made her dizzy.
Cloudstar, even though he wasn't in Starclans world yet, wasn't in his own. He was still drifting, watching the events in the clearing. A spark inside of him lit when he saw the Splashclan leader's concern for him, he liked it, but it also made the white tom want to wake up now, tell her it was okay. Right when Cloudstar was about to start panicking, he should be back by now, the pain returned. he opened his eyes, and he saw Wildstar, and next to her, Dappledpaw. A tom a bit away had his head bowed, and a scent strong theat drifted froma bush told him there was a cat there too. The white leader felt a nudge, and realized it was Wildstar. With a small groan of pain, Cloudstar got to his paws, still dizzy. The exhuastion made him a bit absentminded from the events that happened. "What...happened?" Cloudstar mewed worringly. All he could remember was his visit to Starclan, and waking up. And a weird cat, not smelling like the other clans, "Midnight!!" he exclaimed, looking around in alarm, "Is she still here?"

Dappledpaw raised her head and happiness let up her face, "No she isn't she went away but said she'd kill every last one of SplashClan." Dappledpaw aded fretfully then she sat up and mewed, "Don't move to much, Midnight did a god job of washing away the blood on your chest and face, but i'd better look. She saw the uts that zig-zagged down his chest, and foulish smeel rose from it faintly. She knew what is must be. She had smelled that on a dirty cut before. "I think there may be infection. You might be ok if we take you to the medicine cat den, but I don't know." She smelled the same from the faint cuts along his underbelly, but none from his face. Maybe it was just sand that had been sprayed on his chest and underbelly, but could reach his face.

Wildstar couldn't hide her joy as the StormClan leader awoke. She felt lighter, somehow. "Thank StarClan..." She breathed quietly enough for only Cloudstar to hear. She didn't know why she wanted him to be okay so much, she just did. Standing to the white leader's side, she pressed her flank against him to keep him balanced. Secretly, she liked the feeling, but hid it. "How are you feeling? Dizzy?" She asked calmly, trying to calm the tom down.
